My answer a closet full of beautiful scarves and a husband who tells me I’m beautiful. I’m trying to make peace with the aging wrinkle, creepy skin. Veins, determined to find the beauty of a body well lived and loved.
I remember my mom reading that book one summer. I was probably about 12 or 13 and a voracious reader. I had run out of books to read, and we only went to the John Steinbeck library every other week. I read the book and found it humorous, but I clearly had no idea that, in later years, it would all start to make sense. As for turtlenecks, that seems like a great idea - until you have a hot flash, which is another joy of being a "mature" woman.
